Girls' Generation is a South Korean nine-member girl group formed by SM Entertainment in 2007.
It was then announced that the group's first mini-album, Gee, would be released on January 7, 2009. A teaser video was released on January 2, 2009, with the first single "Gee" released to digital outlets on January 5. Interest in the song rose greatly after the digital release, topping Cyworld's hourly music chart on that day. The group is scheduled to start its comeback on January 9, 2009, on Music Core'.
